I recently joined the team at the Magical Learning Podcast to unpack one of my favourite topics: accountability. We explored why words like “accountability” and “consequences” often get a bad rap, and why — when done well — they can actually be powerful forces for support, clarity and encouragement.

In our conversation, I talk through how accountability is so often misunderstood, the role psychological safety plays in setting people up for success, and why clear expectations matter more than ever. I also walk through my Four C’s model of accountability and share practical ways leaders can create environments where accountability feels shared, fair and deeply human.

It was a thoughtful, energising conversation — and a great chance to reframe what accountability really looks like in high-performing teams.
